ESTHER JULIUS MEMORIAL FUND
Partners for Development has established a special memorial fund to commemorate and celebrate one of our young Nigerian staff employees– Esther Julius - who died suddenly in December 2009 after a brief illness. Ms. Julius was an advocate for children, devoting much of her time to local youth. The Esther Julius Fund will benefit vulnerable and orphaned children in Nigeria.
Donations to this fund will be used to assist vulnerable children and their families or caretakers. Many of these families have been affected by HIV/AIDS and have difficulty affording basic needs. While PFD strives to provide income generating training where possible and feasible, some families need immediate help to afford decent food, shelter, medical care and education. Donations to the new fund will help PFD/Nigeria to respond to emergency basic needs of such families as they arise and to expand the number of families assisted in the states of Benue, Bauchi, Akwa Ibom and Delta in Nigeria.

RECIEVE JATROPHA SOAP WITH YOUR DONATION
For every donation over $25, supporters will receive a complimentary bar of Jatropha soap, straight from local producers in Tanzania!
Aside from its medicinal qualities in the form of soap, Jatropha curcas seed produces oil that can be used for various purposes including cosmetics, biofuel, lubricants, lighting, and cooking.
The by-product seedcake is a nitrogen-rich organic fertilizer and fuel for biogas digesters.
Spreading the word on Jatropha usage is one of the many aspects of our JANI initiative currently under way in Tanzania. Learn more here!
